i need a light shoe with a very thin profile, not a shoe with the kind of cushioning or thick profile i see in today's shoes

i guess they'd be more for indoor exercise.

i am thinking along the lines of the adidas adizero sub2

are there alternatives?

I use Converse for squat and deadlift days.
Alternatively, Wal-Mart has cheap shoes with almost zero cushioning. I had an older pair but my kids finally took issue with the looks and bought me the Converse.

I wear a newer style of Converse Chuck Taylor's, as well. If you wanted something REALLY low profile, basically almost like being barefoot but with a little more protection you could try something like Vibram Five Fingers.

Merrell Trail Glove or Vapor Glove if you want all your toes together.

TYR makes a DZ-1 DropZero Barefoot Trainer.

What do you want to use the shoes for?

What specific kind of Indoor exercise?

Converse or Chuck Taylors but that is for Deadlifts and Squats...
