I am old, but still do five a week with every eighth week off for recovery. Only two days a week are now for "heavy" lifting; probably moderate to most here; On the weeks off, like this one, each morning is yoga and stretching. I am considering taking up swimming. It's getting harder to get motivated to go to the gym, but once there I am glad I went.

Heavy is always defined to your strength, and no one else. Heavy lifting is, when you expend all your effort like your life depends on it, you can only get 1-5 reps of a particular movement.

From a 90-day sample from my PF account last year, I should work out about 285 days/year.
