Why would anyone try to convince President Trump of this when there is no evidence at this time that it is true? Has DeSantis ever run a campaign for anything outside Florida?

The two are right wing and from Florida but seem different enough to me than age.

I think some moderates/independents won't vote for Trump, or are hesitant to vote for him, because of the perception that Trump is for himself, doesn't understand the Constitution, and he's too focused on his appearance as leader.

However, I'd say Trump's good qualities in character with his image is that he is generally likeable and wants to be liked by Americans and those around the world. Remember most of his life before politics and The Apprentice. He is generally good in front of people and wants to do with what he expects would be appreciated. He doesn't attack unless he feels one attacks him. He didn't go after Rosie just for the sake of it, but Rosie made the first insult to him.

DeSantis, on the other hand, seems less about himself and more about providing meat to the base and appears to more willing to push a policy or ban stemming out of a cultural war or taking an absolute position on a very divided issue.

On a foreign policy level, I still don't know what DeSantis would do with Ukraine/Russia. If he is a tough guy, he might be for toughness on Putin and basically follow the same path as Biden. That is making him a warmonger, for those that disapprove of Biden's policy there and want a different direction, they could be getting more of the same.

Why you can't compared? Jeb and Ron are very similar. Jeb lost the governor's race the 1st time, Ron barely lost. Both won re-elections by a landslide in Florida. Both are the same in how to run the federal government. The difference is illegal immigration.

If that's the case, DeSantis should win a 10 candidate + primary if you think he is like Trump. The primary is the perfect test for Ron.

Jeb Bush actually raised a ton of cash, I forget the number but it was record breaking for the time. Trump was able to wipe him clean.

At the end of the day, Trump will be uncontested, you might have some rino's running like Nikki Haley but she will get at most 1-2% of the vote.

Trump will be the nominee regardless of what anyone thinks. There are two reasons for this:
1. Trump has the highest approval rating, of a politician within their own party, of all time.
2. People like what they are familiar with. People know what they are getting from Trump, and are familiar with him. They will revote for him.

2016 won't ever be repeated.
If Trump is nominated again, he will lose again.

That’s a big problem he has - people are very familiar with him and many don’t like what they’ve seen..
