I'm relocating there from arizona but need to sell my car. I don't think it will survive the winters considering there are a small handful amount of issues. But in arizona you NEED a car because everything is far it's a very big city. I'm wondering if you need a car in des moines...or could I survive a bit without one? How are the buses and transportation?

Tgirl (does that mean what I think it does?) a car is all but required in Des Moines outside of the downtown area as far as I know. Can’t you use the money to get another one when you get to Des Moines?

Des Moines, like nearly all cities with size in the midwest, is very spread out. Example being Sioux Falls, SD where I'm at. It's larger in square miles with only a 200,000 population than the other SF you may of heard of, San Francisco.
