I keep thinking about moving to Columbia at some point and would really like to read more posts about overall life there. I visited this past summer and it was hot! And I currently live in Riyadh. But I liked the friendly vibe, distinct neighborhoods and the darling little public library I visited. I'm in my mid-50's and work as a school librarian. Would be looking to work in schools or potentially academic or public libraries. I value a warm community, great parks and libraries, nature, farmer's markets and kind people. I don't like large cities, prefer smaller, more laid-back cities or towns. I lived in the Dayton, Ohio area for years and loved it. Would welcome your thoughts/feedback.
I think it would be a good move. Columbia has a well known street market for your liking every Saturday called the Soda City Market. We have great schools. And if you need a change of scenery, for big city life, Charlotte is only an Hour drive. For mountain life, 2 hr drive. And the closes beaches and a little over an hour away and it’s all kinds of beaches to choose from (from busy to quiet beaches). Here is a small pro list.
If you cannot find it in Columbia, you do not need it.
