I lived in Columbia, in Forest Acres, as a young kid from 1967-70. It was just my mother, brother, and I. I went to Brockman Elementary School and my brother went to Timmerman Kindergarten. I remember playing baseball for a team sponsored by “Dubose 66”. It was a service station, I think. The cool thing was that as a third grader, we have full baseball uniforms. It was also player pitch baseball. The next year, we moved to Greenville. I signed up to play “Y” league baseball at the local YMCA. It completely sucked. Our “uniforms” were just a yellow baseball cap and T-shirt! Not only that, it was coach pitch baseball. I finished out the season, and never played organized baseball again. Instead, I played football, and loved it! Good Times!
