Someone in our group did have Jagerschnitzel - they had one that had one piece chicken and one piece pork. We had some Kroketten and like a Schnitzel cordon bleu thing and some other Schnitzels - there were lots of those on the menu - and some Spatzel stuff both dinner and dessert style and some french toast type stuff that was amazing - can't remember what it was called, some Hoppel Poppel Spatzel, some brat, some cabbage/kraut based thing with red potatoes and some of their fresh baked bread with fancy herb butters. It is a tiny place. Menu - The Potato House They also have some stuff not on the menu like specials - this week one of them was a brussel sprout soup and some kind of dessert and they're starting to make some Christmas cookie things....

Rochester_vet, we have probably 5-8 different German cafes, bakeries and restaurants in Cos, a fortunate by product of the high military population. Edelweiss, Uwes, and Wimbergers are the long term, gold standards. Many others are newer, branching out into new areas of town, and may or may not last long term. One particularly small and friendly one, Ines Cafe, was awesome for their great service, great food, and casual atmosphere. They would offer patrons samples of different items they were working on and would cook items not listed on their menu if they had the ingredients for them. Unfortunately, their location stunk and they didn't last more than a year.

Nice! I was stationed in Germany for three years and enjoy German cuisine and of course, German beer! I do have to give Colorado credit for their craft brews, some good stuff!

Just fyi there are two or three little German places down in Fountain/Security/Widefield that have been there for decades as well.

Be sure to check their website before heading over to Wimberger's - they're mostly daytime hours and closed Sundays and Mondays. 5:00 is the latest they're open, and that's only on Fridays. They have a great bakery and deli: Wimberger's | Old World Bakery & Delicatessen

It's been there awhile but I'd never been (even though I live here).

I know you're asking about pastrami, but this might be the next best to what you're craving (because you may not find a good pastrami sandwich around here!). I had a giant, delicious, drippy reuben sandwich, and it had plenty of fat on it. I was pleasantly surprised to find a good reuben right in my own back yard. The bread slices were huge. It was a good sandwich, and so was the accompanying homemade potato salad.

You might want to try it if you're ever in Manitou.

I just took at look at this place and saw that they have a deli sandwich menu and they offer a pastrami sandwich. Haven't tried it, but definitely looking forward to checking it out when I have another reason to drive out that way.

The description sure sounds good: The House Pastrami – USDA Prime beef brisket brined for days then smoked for hours. Served on our signature rye bread from the Boulangerie then lathered with Gulden’s Spicy Brown Mustard.
