CyHawk game is probably the most underrated in state rivalry in the country. I like the fact that it is early in the season so at least one in state rivalry is a September game.

Iowa at #19 in this week's AP poll..

Maryland will probably always feel like ACC to me, but.. they're a Big Ten squad that gets in to the top 25 also, w/a ton of points in their first two games.

Tight game. Hawkeyes got beat on some long pass plays, but pull out a one-point win.. (18-17)

Yeah, I thought when that Iowa TE went out of bounds with a minute forty something left on 3rd down, it was going to be a huge mistake leaving an extra 30 seconds on the clock. Then Iowa gets 2 penalties on 4th down (delay of game and then a false start) and moves their punter back 10 yards. I was figuring short field, ISU would get within field goal range and win the game (although I don't know anything about ISU's kicker).

Then, blocker for ISU makes a huge mistake, runs into his own kick returner while trying to block the Iowa gunner, and in the process the punt hits him in the back before being recovered by Iowa. Victory-O comes out and the game is over. That ISU player must feel awful.

Although the rain delays sucked it was another great CyHawk game. I always root for the Clones due to conference affiliation but it looks like Iowa has another good team this year. Should be stout in their division of the B1G. Don't see anybody better with the possible exception of Wisconsin. And even at that it looks like the Hawks may be able to match up with the Badgers physically this year.

Iowa was good in the neutral zone today, but continuously stalled when they'd get around Michigan's 40.. Michigan had effective linebacker blitzes in those situations.
Stanley had a nice, last-ditch toss @ the end of the game. In the process of being sacked, he switched hands & completed a desperate pass. But not enough.. Michigan wins 10-3. Tight, defensive B1G game.

Seems like every year since forever, Iowa has had really good defenses and pedestrian offenses despite the talent available on offense.

Should be a good game next Saturday against Penn State, primetime on ABC. Will Penn State be looking ahead to their "White Out" game against Michigan the following week? Iowa isn't always the easiest place to play for an opposing team.
