Just remember, in April, you'll probably have to endure some very chilly winds on the beach. Eastern NC can still be quite cool in April.

I went to the outer banks in May and it was very windy.
From what I gather from other posts it typical for this time of year.
Let me put it in perspective I couldnt put in a beach umbrella and the blowing sand was unbearable

The Gazebo at the charter boat docks in Morehead City is a nice spot.

I saw a wedding take place under the lighthouse at Bald Head Island. By far the best spot in my opinion.

Default Best wedding venue at the beach in North Carolina

I had my wedding at Southern Charm in Holden Beach, NC. It was better than any of the other options we had based on our budget. The bedrooms ran $150/night and we managed to fit our entire family in this home which had 16 bedrooms. We did everything ourselves, so we saved thousands of dollars. There was room for dancing, tables and our back drop was the ocean…which was very private! It was a combination destination wedding and honeymoon all rolled up in one package. I would definitely do it again! Definitely check at Southern Charm in Holden Beach in North Carolina. The beach was beautiful and the house was amazing!

Do you realize you are responding to a post that is close to 16 years old? The OP is likely married with teenagers by now.

I think it is great that FranWolf is telling us about her wedding experience. FWIW, I have relatives who are planning a wedding in August on Topsail Island. I am not sure they realize how hot it can get in the sun in August.

"best" is in the mind of the beholder.
