If I had a genie I'd wish for things, but instead I have a God, so I pray for things.

There are two ways to be fooled:

One is to believe what isn't true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true.

“The church is not perfect. But woe to the man who points out her imperfections. Christ loved the church and let us do the same.” -CH Spurgeon

Belief and faith are great, but very few people have been led astray by thinking for themselves.

There happens to be an order and plan how one can come to a place of reward where its much more than 3 miserable wishes. To one who had died and completed his first two seasons, he can ask anything, anything he wants and it doesnt stop after 3 wishes.

DECISION IS THE VIRTUE OF THE HOUR

“A chasm is opening between men who believe their Bibles and the men who are prepared for an advance upon Scripture. The house is being robbed, its very walls are being digged down, but the good people who are in bed are too fond of the warmth, and too much afraid of getting broken heads, to go downstairs and meet the burglars ... Inspiration and speculation cannot abide in peace. Compromise there can be none. We cannot hold the inspiration of the Word, and yet reject it; we cannot hold the doctrine of the fall and yet talk of the evolution of spiritual life from human nature; we cannot recognize the punishment of the impenitent and yet indulge the ‘larger hope.’ One way or the other we must go. Decision is the virtue of the hour.” --C.H.S., The Sword and the Trowel,

A house of worship that functions like an organism is alive, life reproduces itself and grows. However if it functions like an organization it's dead on arrival.

NO NEED FOR ORGANIZED ASSOCIATIONS; THE LOCAL CHURCH IS SUFFICIENT

To the suggestion that he should start a new denomination, he replied negatively. He argued that there were enough denominations, that organizations tended to be infiltrated and corrupt, and that self governing, self determining churches could fellowship without “hampering ropes” and “can keep their own coasts clear of invaders.” --C.H.S., The Sword and Trowel, November 1887, p. 560 (Sheehan)

Spurgeon never fled from the seeming incompatibility of the Sovereignty of God and the responsibility of man to repentance. When challenged to do so he replied, "I do not try to reconcile friends." Spurgeon was even once reported as praying before his sermon, "Lord, call out your elect, and then elect some more."
