I notice that Del Webb is starting up a 55+ community in Belmont called Carolina Riverside. The surrounding neighborhood looks industrial, and it is not really Belmont. I hope there is a redeeming factor in the location.
They are doing four. Carolina Riverside in Belmont, Ol' Glory Hills in Fort Mill, Blazing Acres in Greenville, and Salty Ol' Prospector in the Harrisburg area.
Syncott Plastics and Bonded Logistics along Armstrong Ford Rd look industrial to me. The site is closer to Cramerton than Belmont.
Once developed, the site may be fine. Right now, there are few restaurants except fast food.
Downtown Belmont is only a 2 mile drive (~5 minutes) and has several sit down restaurants. I think the area is typical for Gaston County where there are a mix of uses given the county's economy and history. Downtown Belmont also has two industrial sites in the middle and McAdenville was built around the mill in the town core.

Most of Gaston is way past-due for some development. A Whole Foods and some subdivisions would be great

The sit-down restaurants in Cramerton and Belmont seems to be down-home and blue-coller. There's a catfish house and barbeque places.
Maybe the Del Webb place would be attractive to someone with family nearby. However, I would hope for more sophisticated options. There seem to be plenty of doctors, and it is close to the airport.

I am one of a handful that doesn't care for what Belmont's become.
The area that you referenced is very nice: they recently developed a nearby parcel with brick homes.

A good number of Gaston's residents don't want the area redeveloped: the Charlotte region has enough traffic, and many redeveloped areas have lost Southern hospitality/customs/pace that made the area attractive.

I confess that your reply rubbed me the wrong way.
Even so, there are many nice, independent, restaurants in downtown Belmont.
