"Update January 8, 2023: Ron Jeremy will reportedly be declared unfit to stand trial for more that 30 sexual assault charges, per People. Jeremy is suffering from “severe dementia,” and is likely to be placed in a state-run hospital shortly after being declared unfit January 17. "
He looks horrible in the photo. I always thought he looked so gross. I've never been into porn, but I knew who he was, and late night TV used to run commercials for a sex store, and he'd endorse the store. I could never understand how anyone found him attractive. He almost turns my stomach...just the thought of him.
So anyway, he has lots and lots of charges against him.
Ron Jeremy will reportedly be declared incompetent to stand trial for more than 30 counts of rape.
According to the Los Angeles Times, the retired adult film star, 69, whose legal name is Ronald Jeremy Hyatt, is suffering from "severe dementia" and will be declared unfit for trial on Jan. 17 and likely be placed in a state-run hospital, following allegations from at least 20 women since June 2020.
In an email obtained by The Times, L.A. County Deputy District Attorney Paul Thompson said that mental health experts enlisted by both the prosecutors and Hyatt's legal team determined his condition, of which there was no evidence he was faking.
"As a result of the agreement of the experts, the defendant will be declared incompetent to stand trial ... his prognosis for improvement is not good," Thompson wrote.
I seem to recall Ernest Sunders who was part of the Guinness Fraud trial back in the early 1990's, was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease , however after he was acquitted he got better, and went back to running his businesses.
As far as I can seen this was one of the only cases of someone getting better in relation to dementia and Alzheimer's disease, so there may yet be hope for Jeremy, although I think Jeremy's brains (and talent) may actually be in his lower regions rather than up top.

As to the question of how he could be in porn, well, two things. First, he was quite the buff beef cake in the early days. And secondly, he's taller on his back.
As to anything else, the flicks are not about the boy or at least, the majority, non asset of him. The porn of the 70s (I think that is the first flick I saw of him) thru the 90s, was primarily made for Men and they aren't looking at the boy. Although I do wonder what some directors are thinking when I see stuff where it is missionary but one sees mostly the man's backside.
In Ron's case, I would say he was the comic relief that they could also use in the main performance. As to the boy stars of then, Ron, Jamie Gillis, Peter North, Joey Silvera, Paul Thomas, Robert Kerman, John Leslie, Randy West, Mike Horner, Jerry Butler, Randy Spears, Marc Wallice, Buck Adams, Tom Byron, Ray Victory, Richard Pacheco, and Jon Dough, they all have their own niches to fit in.....above the belt.
Someone of them look wonderful in a suit: North, Kerman, Adams, Dough.
Some of them remind you of the boys in high school: Butler, Spears (the QBs of the football team to me), Wallice
Some of them are the older men with cash one hopes to catch the eye of: Leslie, Thomas
Some of them are just sleazy: Gillis
Some of them are always fun to be with (and can play any role): Byron, Silvera
Some of them are the ideal straight men: West, Horner
Some of them are for interracial flicks: Victory
Some of them are for when you need a good looker for a dressed role: Pacheco
Like I said about Ron, he's comic relief. He's a different angle to another male player role I am seeing a lot in the current "productions", the squirrely guy, "husband, boyfriend" who is clearly a milksop and can't satisfy the woman, so they go looking elsewhere.
Ron in his latter roles might also be filling a niche of exploitation. Take, say, Sharon Kane with Racquel Darrian in the latter's early work. The former, the hard hitting older woman who has contempt in her face for the pretty young thing she is using. Okay, that's a more "beautiful" illustration of the darker vices of domination.....but that type of flick, exploitation, no doubt appeals to various audiences.
NOW, is that saying I know a lot about that business? I doubt it but more that I know how to read things shown on the screen that aren't spoken. It also illustrates that in porn, these things that I mention really aren't seen by most of the people who watch the movie.
On Jon Dough. I understand that he was suffering from depression when he ended his life. One should not look at this line of work as the ideal job, as a man's dream. I understand that they have to be able to perform when the director calls them and if they can't after a few calls, they could be out of a job.......and what else is there for them to do. Further, who is the star of the movie, who gets the front billing, who gets more of the money, who gets the attention? It's not the men. Taking that speculation just a little further, while one might "get plenty of action at work", what is their ego telling them? Are men the ones in charge or........? Mind you, just speculating on that part.
As to the charges, who knows? If a jury trial ever came about, however, given his profession, he has the deck stacked quite high against him.

So, send him to trial anyways. He was fine when he was raping women. I have no sympathy for this animal.
