It seems like every day someone from my generation is dying now. I always liked Kirstie Alley. I remember seeing her years ago in the miniseries North & South with Patrick Swayze. Then of course as Rebecca Howe in Cheers. She was an actress that could play a number of different characters in her career. The news says she had a short bout with cancer. When my father died of Pancreatic Cancer in 2003 I thought he must of had, the shortest bout of cancer in history. He died exactly 7 days after we were told he had cancer. I wonder if that's what Kirstie had that took her life in such a short time.

RIP Kirstie Alley. You will definitely be missed

I said similar, pancreatic cancer because usually it's spread too much when it's found

Default So sad....

Sometimes, I watch the Cheers reruns and it brings back the memories.

Her kids were only 30 and 27. Too young for Kirstie to go.

She leaves quite a legacy.

Completely shocked at the news.

I also grew up watching Cheers and it seems like they are all still so young. One expects people to die in their 90's or live to be 100. Seems terribly young to die just past their 60's.

Wonder who else is next?

RIP.

The first person I thought about when I heard this was John Travolta.

First he loses his beautiful wife Kelly to cancer before her 60th birthday, and now his good friend Kirstie.

I lost my parents when I was just a bit older than that, and my parents were younger than Kirstie.

I feel for her kids.

She had such stunning eyes. Every time I saw a photo of her- it captivated.

So sad for her family.

She had a sense of humor and her laugh...ohh she could laugh with the best of em!

Default Kirstie Alley dead at 71

This just dropped into my email. I usually ignore Yahoo headlines in my e mail but this caught my eye. She was so young, and I liked her a lot. Hurts my heart a little, you know?
