Just to verify, are you sure it's connected to the Positive (+) side of the battery?
if that's a live positive + cable hooked to the battery with an uninsulated bus bar flopping around, you have one potential hazard on your hand. I can see that being the negative (-) connection point back to the battery, but uninsulated Positive(+), hope your rubber gloves and fire extinguisher are in good order.
