I took pictures and made a "wiring diagram" the took the batteries out. Looks like there are a couple of questionable things going on.

I'll have an electrician check out the system before I hook it up to power again.

I can see that being the negative (-) connection point back to the battery, but uninsulated Positive(+), hope your rubber gloves and fire extinguisher are in good order.
