It will only get worst IF our Insurance Crisis (companies leaving, no flood zones coverage, etc.) is not RESOLVED.

Not sure how we can do this and dreading 2023.

What a year with Ian and Nicole and I feel so bad for folks being “scammed” during their times of loss.

That needs to be resolved too.

Well I hope Nicole was it for now……

Flood insurance increases have been announced and folks getting new policies are in for a shock. Existing premium increases are capped at 18% annually but for new policies there is no limit. Cocoa Beach is getting the highest increase of any zip code in Florida, 761% which is an average increase of $5867!!

Floridians are going to be paying a lot more for flood insurance.

I'm close paying off my house I bought 5 years ago. Home owners insurance is a HUGE SCAM. File a claim, they jack up your policy or they will drop you. That was happening before all the craziness. So within three years my Homeowners insurance went from $400, $800 and $1,100 as of last year. This is ridiculous. I've filed no claims, my credit score is 760 and I have a frigging cement roof that will last for 50 friggin years!

When I pay off my house which will be soon, I'm just getting fire protection. Screw home owners insurance.

I’m not sure how much it went up, but when we went shopping for a bundled policy, all the quotes were a lot higher than sticking with the same company, which is Allstate. This is GA, so still subject to the same weather.

What ISN'T a scam in this country???????

Buying a house/car = scam to get you into debt
Health care = scam to get you into a debt
Education = scam to get you into debt
Auto insurance = scam to make people who hit you, and the ambulance chaser lawyers who rep them, rich
Homeowners insurance = scam that never pays the homeowner what you pay into it

We retirees are at the mercy of taxes and insurance. We can cut back on everything except those.

When I bought my 3900 square foot home 3 years ago, I was getting homeowners' insurance quotes in the high $4000's. I was able to get insurance with Nationwide for the low $2000's.

Last year, my insurance jumped to the mid $3000's. We are victims of a computer system that states the "replacement value" of homes in case of a major casualty like a burn. I was quoted $5,400 premiums when shopping around this year.

We lost a bunch of shingles in recent storms (tornados in the area.) This week, that insurance company paid $23,000 for 63 squares of new roofing on my house.

I guess it'll be awhile before I start to complain about homeowners' insurance rates. They paid exactly the cost of repairs.

Another scam, over-inflated roofing repair bills! A new roof costs less than 23k!!!!!!!
