I am shocked this fight is occurring. Money grab? What are your thoughts?

Tyson was amazing in his prime and I am sure he can still put someone to sleep if he catches them, but I wish they didn't let 57yo guys fight. Yes it's a cash grab - neither guy is even a ranked fighter, but, they're both famous and that will drive ticket sales and the fight.

jake Paul has been claiming to be "an elite boxer" for years now. He's actually very shrewd, and he's better than most anyone (including me) gave him credit for. But if he wants to promote himself as an elite boxer, let him fight current top-10 cruiserweight boxers, and let's see how it goes.

Just last August, Paul fought Nate Diaz. I mean Diaz was a legit fighter in the UFC, and better with his hands than most, but, he fought almost all his fights at lightweight (155lb) for crying out loud, and he had good offense but poor defense, and he was past his prime to boot - not really a challenging fight for a 27yo guy who calls himself an elite boxer and size-wise should probably be fighting around 195lb.

Definitely a money grab, although neither one of them are hurting for cash. People keep posting those training vids of Tyson like he's in good shape. Those vids you see of him are 5-6 years old. He was most recently seen walking around with a cane so people should not expect THAT Tyson to show up.

I actually have serious doubts that this fight will happen. The boxing commission will have to sanction (i.e., approve it) before a green light is actually given. I doubt they'll let a near 60 year old man fight a 20-something.

How can you know Tyson isn't hurting for cash. He's been bankrupt multiple times and is horrible with money.

I think Vegas is going to make a killing on this fight considering the general public seems to think it will be an easy win for Tyson and he likely doesn't have a chance. Paul is heavily favored by Vegas.

I hope it is a 100% sanctioned real fight with no special rules or head gear etc. That will make it viewable.

Tyson wants to make as much money as he can at this age by opting to fight such bouts.
