I don't keep track of how many I've read, mostly because I tend to read more than one at once, but I do know that I've started and given up on three already. That's probably a record by itself as it's barely March and usually I don't give up on that many in a year.
I think I'm pickier about writing style and editing than I used to be. Maybe I just have less patience. Funny thing is, two of those DNF books are ones that I've read before and kept with the intention of reading them again. This time I really noticed the flaws - don't know how I missed them the first time around. The third one just didn't click with me and felt like a waste of time.
Take it easy on yourself. Picking a book that really resonates and leaves a lasting mark on one's life isn't easy. Most of all, don't give up!
Have you thought of trying a new genre? Maybe you just need a new "flavor" to perk up your reading appetite.
I think that's pretty impressive. I average around 3-4 per month, though lately I've been on a reading binge.
Have you read So Many Books, So Little Time: A Year of Passionate Reading by Sara Nelson? She sets out to read one book per week for a year and write a book about it. I've read other books like this as well - one was a guy who set out to read an entire encyclopedia, all 32 volumes. It took him a year and a half. This was a good one, lots of laughs and interesting information. The Know-It-All: One Man's Humble Quest to Become the Smartest Person in the World by A. J. Jacobs.

I saved So Many Books, So Little Time: A Year of Passionate Reading by Sara Nelson on my Goodreads list!!! Perhaps this is a sign I need to tackle it this year.
You're not alone! I, too, am in a reading slump. Only finished 5 books so far this year and had 7 DNF's!
I find myself having zero tolerance for mediocre books. If the book is not engaging me, I will pretty quickly give up on it, where in the past I may have slogged on with it.
It seems to have become increasingly harder to find a really good book, especially with the new releases.

I think there are plenty of good books out there, but personally I've become more critical and less tolerant. Lately I've been reading a lot of mindset and psychology-related books, and the egos of some of these writers are off the charts!
I started one yesterday called Square Peg about a guy who worked his way from a minimum wage job to being on the faculty at Harvard, a fact that he reminded the reader off at least a dozen times in the first ten pages. The arrogance was repelling and it became a DNF by page twenty.

And it makes no difference how many you read. You can't compare something thin like Anthem to something fat like Dombey and Son.
I have the desire, just not as many enticing books!!!
I think I broke my slump, though, thank goodness!!!
