I love Tana French. I read In The Woods when it first came out and I was hooked. I'll tell you after all this time I still think about that mystery. Maybe it is time for a re-read!

Since you liked it so well, why not? I think second readings of good books reveal new things.

Well, I started with one written recently, and I regretted it because of the way she overlaps characters and references previous books. So, my rec is to read them in order if possible. But, whatever you do, I hope you read them because they are really good.

I do like to read in order if there are recurring characters/themes. So, thanks for the tip and for the rec of the author.

I just finished The Secret Place. Not as good as In the Woods (IMO), but interesting.

Dick Francis racing world mysteries are always readable to me
Harry Bingham's Fiona Griffith's police mysteries are interesting and well designed
Reading a series set in early Victorian era now called The Northminister Series by Harriet Smart
Dual leads--former military officer is head constable... his police surgeon is young bastard son of area lord--

Like Debra Coomey's Scotland Yard series about the married detectivesbut those come far between

And love the Venetian detective stories about Brunetti by Donba Leon

Have also read the historic series w/Owen Archer set in time of Edward I
Also enjoyed series set in Norman England--translated from a Scandanavian writer Martin Jensen

Many I have read on Kindle Unlimited and found by searching Amazon

Also read the Block mysteries w/the former cop turned PI, Matt Scudder--long series
