Florida Scrub Jay's.... do they walk or fly?

What the heck is a scrub jay..... I see a picture of a bird......... wait......... don't they fly? Why would they be "crossing"??
Okay, I have an inquiring mind.... so I wanted to find out for myself.
So, here is what I found out! These little beauties are on the threatened species list for the State of Florida... they ONLY live in Florida.... and yes they can fly. HOWEVER, they like to walk along the side of the roadways and bury nuts..... and pick up bugs. Therefore........

A little bit of history for our local residents. Did you know that here, in our bustling little town of North Port, we have a historical landmark that continues to educate researchers about the people and animals that inhabited this area as long as 5000 years ago.
Little Salt Spring resulted from a sinkhole which occured thousands of years ago... it is 200 feet deep and it contains human remains of 100's of Indians that used the land as a burial ground. The salt content of the water has perfectly...
