Philadelphia 76ers lost a home game to the NY Knicks in which NY fans were louder than Philadelphia fans. 76ers star Joel Embiid came down on Philly fans for selling their tickets to NYers. 76er owners buy 2000 of their own tickets for the next home and will donate them to local fans.

It's cheaper to attend a game in Philadelphia than NYC. NYC Madison Square Garden tickets are triple the prices for tickets in Philadelphia on the secondary market.

You got that right. I haven't paid for Knicks tickets in years. I keep my hat in my hand, waiting for Knicks tickets to fall in my lap.

One of the associated issues is that a lot of season ticket holders are resellers period. They might resell to a lot of local fans but some will wind up in opposing teams hands on the secondary market like Stub Hub etc. That along with many Philadelphia fans could be broke from attending the regular season, paying for over priced parking, drinks, foods, souvenirs, jerseys etc.

Philadelphia is less than 2 hours drive without traffic from nyc. For new yorkers to go to philly, eat, drink, park, book hotels, it really helps Philadelphias economy with new money coming into the city.

Its actually good for the city to allow new york fans to come.

Chicago fans do this with Bucks & Brewers games too. Local fans don't like having the stadium flooded with Illinois folks but they often spend their money locally loading up on Wisconsin cheese, craft beer, & dining out so it's not all bad.

It still was a ton of Knicks fans at the game. It was like Madison Square Garden South instead of Wells Fargo Center.

The taxes generated by hotel stays and eating cheesesteaks will really help Philadelphia. Embiid wanted more philly fans at the arena, but its actually better for philly if the whole arena is 100% knicks fans.

Sixers arena holds 20k people, if half is ny fans, thats 10k. If each fan only averaged 100 bucks spent in philly hotels, food, thats 1 million new money coming in. Hotels are not cheap when its in high demand

When I lived in Chicago had access to season tix when the holder wasn't going. Mid 90's (championship runs)

$22 face value x2, 2nd row, center court balcony. (old stadium)

Yeah, the price of tickets have gone up a bit.
