This matchup seems to be talked about on tv the most, since its an aging lebron still playing at an all star starter level.
I give the Nuggets a 90% chance of advancing. D'angelo russell cant guard anything if the Nuggets really try and have jokic be the point guard. Lebron has to turn back the clock, ad has to be prime ad, Austin reaves has to be larry bird for 4 games in order to win this.
Nuggets in 6. Looks like they swept the season series 3-0.
I pick Nuggets to repeat this year.
Its either lakers get blown out, or win by a point or 2 every game if everything goes right and nobody haves an off night. Joker is just on another level.
We go one game at a time here in this household, hope Nuggets can win the series.
I can recall Nuggets having a tough memory of this matcbup in past seasons.
In the off-season, I didn't see too much media attention, commercials, etc. with Jokic, Murray, KCP, Porter, Gordon, nothing.
Nothing but Bron, Davis, Curry, Durant, Curry, Curry, Curry.
Oh, wbat a finish, Jomic slams on bron, bron about rolls his own ankle by just slipping going hard to the hoop, Murray finds the basket, then Bron battles back for one in the paint, then game over.
The most interesting part of all of this to me is how easily Jokic scores on Davis and James, like James isn't even there, and Davis has some fight, but gets worn down and exhausted as the game goes on.
The most telling moment of Game 1 was an exhausted Davis tugging on his shorts under his own basket as Jokic beat Lebron down court and then got a fast break dunk on him with about 2 minutes left in the game.
What? Yeah, that really happened. Davis being unable to slow down Jokic (even in transition?) is not something I would have guessed even after the first MVP, sure he can score back, but he is taking a beating already, can't match up all game with him. Jokic now has 69 playoff games under his belt, more than Davis who is 2 years older. Jokic's line over those 69 games is 27/12/7 on 53/41/82 shooting splits. Top PER and 2nd best Box +/- in playoff history as of this post.
