Forwards. This is a nice group of Forwards who used to play PF/Center in SEA and Asia Cup but should really be playing one position down to fit their height. Here I worked in correcting their positions.
Bonn Daja, 6'4. His skills are more of a 2 but with the team's lack of height upfront, Bonn plays SF/PF. I would design this team where Bonn only plays SF where his height is a better fit. He is my choice for starting SF.
Jaime De Llano, 6'5. Seldom used in the U16 Asia Cup, hoping they are training and grooming him for much more playing time this World Cup. He can be the bruiser PF this team needs. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/4TiXSmaE7qc
Centers. If the team gets this 3 guys together, they could form a good trio alternating the Center spot without sacrificing much length.
Paul Diao, 6'6. The team's starting Center. He played well enough but the lack of size in the team forced him to play more minutes and affected his scoring efficiency starting midway as we also have to defend against tall big players, some who are 6'10 to 7'.
Ram Sharma, 6'6. Hopefully he is given the chance. I believe Ram will be a quality backup center with his length and familiarity playing the center position in his HS and really becoming a double double machine there. What he lacks in strength, he makes up for his agility.
Deydi De Ocampo, 6'7. This team needs Deydi even if for only 10 minutes a game to introduce him to international play and gain experience. Plus this helps Paul get much needed rest without using the smaller forwards as Centers.
Can't wait to see the future of NBA. There is no weak team now. This ain't like seniors' where it begins with 32 countries. No, FIBA U17 has always been cut down to ONLY 16 countries from the get-go, eliminating good but not strong teams during the qualifiers.
