Timberwolves 61, Nuggets 35 at the half. The Nuggets are getting taken to the cleaners, pressed, folded, and stored away till next season.
Yep game just concluded. Denver losing by almost 30, and this is without Gobert, AND at home. Denver is in trouble. A sweep is not out of the question. Didnt see this coming at all.
Not many adjustments you can make against deeper, bigger, stronger, taller, longer, more athletic and younger. Denver has almost no advantages in this series. This hasn't been a fluke thing so far where baskets simply haven't fallen for them. They are being totally dominated in every aspect of the game.
The T-Wolves are making defense great again. They might go down as one of the great lockdown teams of the modern era along with the Ben Wallace Pistons and '96 Bulls.

Denver has experience and the MVP, so if they have any chance at a comeback, they need to the MVP to put together two dominate games and hope that being up 0-2 put the Wolves in a different mindset. It's a tough hill to climb, Denver has to win the next two against a team that has dogged them.

If they comeback, it would be one of the greatest comebacks in NBA history.
It would be better than the Cavs 1-3 comeback IMO. GSW had already been down 1-3 to OKC in the previous round so we had already seen that King bleed. And on paper, the Cavs probably had more top-end talent.
Here, the Nuggets are completely outmatched and they've completely surrendered HCA. You would have thought last night's game was an away game based on the score. To go into hostile territory with a super-amped crowd against an athletically superior and hungry opponent and steal HCA back would be nothing short of miraculous.
Personally, I see them getting routed the next two games but that's why we play the games, right?
Last night, Barkley mentioned that the last defending champs to go down 0-2 with HCA were the 2011 Lakers. But this is different for a number of reasons.
The Lakers were coming off back-to-back titles and 3 consecutive Finals appearances with a core that was on the wrong side of 30. And the first 3 games of that series were pretty tight. Here, we've got the Timberwolves destroying a defending championship team at a time when their core should be peaking. I can't say I can recall a championship team in its prime being dominated this way. We usually only see this after a good team has had a long run and they're clearly worn down and tired of all the winning.
Jay Williams, former Bulls player, mentioned that the Wolves are the best team in the playoffs right now! As a Knick fan, I take exception to it and, in general, I think it's a tad premature. However, hard to argue with the point. Especially with Bajan Yankee's breakdown.
Denver made a big push late in the season for seeding. It is looking like they peaked too early and are tired and nicked up now.
In spite of it all, this series probably still goes 6 games so Jokic can have his MVP celebrated in Denver. As good as Minnesota is playing, they will have an off game at some point too, and when you start to miss shots, offense gets easier for the other team.
