Wow! With the Blue Jays doing well I actually care about baseball again!
Actually, I've always paid some attention during the playoffs, but the regular season is interminably boring. But the Jays have me somewhat excited now! I remember watching them win their last two WS championships. I thought they were one of the top contenders when the playoffs started and it looks like they still are.
They seem to have it all: hitting, speed, two ace pitchers, a solid bullpen, and good D. Hopefully they'll keep it going.

Ok, on the Martin throw, while that is a rule that could make sense, well, how come it's not the same thing, on catcher's interfence calls? I'm sure 90% of the time, the catcher doesn't intentionally hit the bat with his glove on such a play, but yet, since Choo, didn't "intentionally" (only Choo knows the true answer) hit Martin's throw with the bat, a run that could have sent the Rangers to the ALCS happened? It would have if Texas didn't make an unreal 3 errors in a row. I don't really blame the fans that much, after the roof closing and the strike zone crap, for throwing things. Well, maybe understand why.
What a crazy game that was, and that strange call from the umpire was totally nonsense IMO. Weird rule like that should've been scraped from the rule book. It was extremely fortunate that Bautista hit that home-run the way he hit it and turned the table completely. That hit in the 7th inning had saved the city of TO, at least inside Sky Dome, from having a serious riot.
We'd been waiting patiently for 22 years for a post-season game and it was almost lost to that ridiculous call. Just imagine it. The crushing odds were stacking against us after losing the first two games on home soil. The Jays had moved mountains to get to Game 5. We weren't ready to lose it because of some silly rules for sure, not the Jays, not the fans.
BTW Jays is the 3rd team in the entire baseball history to win Game 5 coming from losing the first two in a 5-Game series. Majority of people thought it couldn't be done, and that it was statistically impossible. But we beat the odds nonetheless, we'd made history with this win, from 0-2 to 3-2, three games in a roll, to win the ALDS. That was something.
Now we're in for the ALCS, a real chance to win big. Last time that happened was in 1993. I have tremendous faith in our Jays. I believe we have a right team this time round to win the world series again. It is 22 years in the making. I hope the Jays can go all the way.

I was a ridiculous occurrence, but not a ridiculous call, the umpires were correct. The rule states that unless the batter makes some deliberate attempt to interfere with the return throw, a ball hitting the batter or his bat is in play.
What would you want the umpires to do? Ignore the rule and just make up their own call based on some private sense of justice?
I didn't expect the Blue Jays to make it back from 0-2, but they found a way. Jose Bautista hit the biggest HR in Toronto since Joe Carter.
What happened to the Rangers infield in the bottom 7th was inexplicable though. The magnitude of that kind of collapse is just sinking in now that I've watched the inning several times.

I would have LMAO if they didn't make it, especially after picking up a couple of mercenary players Price and Tulowitzki.

No, this would have only been correct from the start, if the umpire, noticed that too, and did not call time out. Once he did that, even if it was a live ball, all bets are off and the runner had to return to third.
