The Tribe are coming off their best April in Franchise history thanks to solid pitching and timely hitting with a record of 18-8.

As of today, they are tied for the league best record: Regular Season Standings | MLB.com: Standings

I've also read this is their youngest team Cleveland has had in well over a decade. Hopefully they can maintain!

Everyone has been talking about the surprise success of the Indians pitching, but look at take a look at the offensive numbers as well! Currently in the American League:

Runs Scored: 1st
Team Batting Ave: 1st
Home Runs: 3rd
Runs Allowed: 3rd

Note too bad of an April at all...!

I hope they can keep it up. It's good to see someone different on top and they deserve it.

The Tribe has swept Detroit! Win 5-4 today.

They went 6-0 this homestand and are currently on a 13 game home win streak.

It's fun to watch after the ups and downs (mostly downs, alas) of the past few years. Go Tribe!

I'd be surprised if the Indians can sustain their pace, but considering I've always casually liked the Indians (for that matter the Browns and Cavaliers too), I hope they do keep it up.

Are the Indians For Real? | FanGraphs Baseball

Quote:
However, even with a pitching staff that is due for a fall, this team certainly looks better than we thought headed into the season, and the rest of the division looks demonstrably weaker. In fact, the two teams most generally picked as the top contenders for the AL Central — the Twins and White Sox — are 10 games behind the Indians already. The Tigers are 7 1/2 games back. Whether it’s real or not, the Indians have amassed a huge lead over the three teams that were considered to be the cream of the division’s crop.
Yes, there are 135 games to play, but Minnesota and Chicago are now going to have to put it into another gear to take the division back from the Tribe’s hands. If we project the Indians at a .500 winning percentage going forward — which seems about right to me, assuming that Sizemore and Hafner can stay reasonably healthy — the Indians would end the season with 86 or 87 wins. To finish with 88 wins, the Twins and White Sox would each have to play .586 baseball the rest of the way.
