The audio between pilot and traffic control shows the pilot saying there were 72 pounds of fuel.
This flight was NY to LAX.

72 pounds must be more fuel than we thought?
Or fuel efficiency is very good.

Nothing was said about a fuel dump during the return to NY.

OP, perhaps you could come back and give us a LINK to a legitimate news source that reports on what you are talking about? Because your post, well, sorry, but it doesn't make much sense ... but it can, if you give us a link ... please?

What is the relationship between fuel and an exit slide in the title?

This thread is still rubbish.

It must have been an Airbus. The plane manufacturer was not mentioned in the article at all. HOWEVER, if it was a Boeing the whole article would have been littered with how bad they are. Media dishonesty is out-of-hand.

"The pilots declared an emergency and flew back to JFK Airport, where the Boeing 767-300ER landed safely. According to the FAA, the flight landed back at JFK around 8:35 a.m."
