My 1979 Mustang that I owned for 10 years had 138,000 on it. Body, paint and interior were in great condition but it needed a new transmission (for the second time!). I didn't want to deal with it anymore. My neighbor bought it, replaced the transmission, and gave it to his daughter. When we moved 5 years later, she was still driving it.

My current car is next highest with 111,000. It is a 2014 Mazda5. Looks and runs great. No plans to get rid of it any time soon so I'm sure this will end up being my highest mileage vehicle.

Over 240,000 on a 1970 Mercedes 220D. It just couldn't be fixed any more and the body was bad. Our mechanic bought it, apparently put a gas engine in it and took it to the demolition derby.

I couldn't think of a better ending for it.

Many years ago, I had Honda and Toyota models that went 190,000+ miles with the proper maintenance. They were still running well when we sold them.

311,000 miles on a 1978 VW Rabbit diesel, still going strong when it got totalled by an 18-wheel logging truck. And it saved our lives. Original engine and transmission too.

^^ this version of the powertrain, lasted the longest, got the best mileage (50mpg+ any day of the week) and gave you the best chance of beating it up the on ramp to the interstate in a footrace - 50hp will do that!

I've had 2 vehicles that approached 100,000 miles. I drive a lot less now. Also, the Salt Belt is hard on vehicle longevity.

245,000 miles on my 1989 Honda CRX that I sold 10 years ago when I got my current 2004 Honda Civic. The car was operated by the new owner for at least another 5 years who planned to use it for long distance commuting. I'm sure that it would have been well over 300,000 miles before it was retired.

I got out of the Navy in San Diego in 1959. A shipmate and I got into my 48 Plymouth convertible and headed east. Before we got to Arizona the odometer rolled over to 00000. That was as high as they went. The interstate highways had not been built yet, so it was 2 lane US highways. We drove east to New Orleans and then turned north. I dropped my shipmate off in Indiana and turned east headed to Long Island. The engine expired in eastern Pennsylvania. I took a train home.
