Australia has accused China of unsafe behaviour involving a fighter jet, firing flares at a
Sea Hawk navy helicopter in international waters.

The copter was of HMAS Hobart, which was enforcing UN Security Council Sanctions against North Korea.

The pilot of the chopper was forced to under take evasive action during the process.

The incident took place in international waters in the Yellow Sea.

This was the second serious incident over recent times , with the other involving a Chinese destroyer, the Ningbo.

The UK air force chief, Sir Richard Knighton, at the moment in Australia on a visit, said Australia should release video of the Chinese jet incident.

The British military do as much , regularly publishing evidence of similar encounters with Russian warplanes, in order to high light unacceptable behaviour.

Also over the past couple of years, The UK has introduced new penalties to stop former RAF pilots from becoming paid instructors.

It is said that privately , senior figures from military partners have spoken with regards to the level of secrecy on defense matters as well as the level of control exerted .

Australia, surely remains wary of upsetting China, owing to our massive economic dependance . The recent smack on the wrist over the banning of certain exports to China, probably had the desired impact in Chinese eyes.
