So it's okay to use personal anecdotes to make gross generalizations about Koreans but not other Asian groups because you and OP dislike Koreans? Sweet lord. What a messed up way of thinking and acting.

More than slightly. But agree on Thai.

Nope, that's not what CharlesRamon "basically said."

I'm also a "visible minority" who had no problems with Koreans, nor did my daughter when she taught English there. Moreover, my experience was in Seoul while hers was both in Seoul and in a small town to far to the south.

Asians are definitely not docile. Not in any country. Don’t fall for the act of the smile and the saving face. When it’s time for them to get rough with you, they’ll do it in a heartbeat. It’s just not as out in the open like it is in the US.

If you ever did get angry in public, or perhaps a physical in your face pushing confrontation with an Asian, they must have thought it wasn’t worth dealing with you any further and let it go. But I’ve seen it before, many foreigners who got dealt with. The Kenny Chesney line comes to mind, “I wish I’d listened when they said boy you’re gonna wish you hadn’t.”

As far as Koreans, they just smile and save face at a much lesser rate than most Asian countries, so it comes across as unfriendly, which it probably is, to some extent at least.

They've saved enough face with the Chinese and Japanese.

At some point, you just say, "Eff it."

Korea is one country out of many. You just called an entire continent docile ass kissers. Yes, I stand by my comment. Koreans are known to have very poor manners, to be very stand offish and aggressive and also be very racist. They are not all like that but, Unforunately too many are. What a poor way of thinking to try to stereotype an entire Continent over some one expressing their experience about one place.

I do think many Korean people do not really care for foreigners, or are at least indifferent about them, but
Thank you for your honest opinion.

The double standard is just too rich. I could make a bunch of threads just like this one based on negative experiences I've had with certain groups of people but I don't because my sample of personal experiences and subjective interpretations of them wouldn't amount to anything but pointless disparagement. It's called prejudice and it's not justifiable in any form no matter how much your experiences say otherwise.

BTW, I was playing a form of devil's advocate in my earlier posts to illustrate the point that this kind of reasoning is faulty and inherently wrong. Or, to put it another way, I was being sarcastic.
