Taiwanese is the #3 sources of tourists to SK after mainland China (which goes up and down depend on the latest "outrage") and Japan, ahead of #4 USA. Around 1.2M Taiwanese go to SK every year (yes, it includes multi-tripper, but that applies everywhere). And yes, it is far behind the 4M-5M to Japan, but 1.2M is still not a small number.
South Korean meanwhile are the #4 source of tourists (and right now #3) after Mainland, Japan, and HK. Again, another 1.2M South Korean trips to Taiwan annually, and not that far behind the other 3 (around 2.7M, 2M, and 1.7M before pandemic).
That's far from "SK and Taiwan doesn't care about one another". Yes, Japan is still the larger destination, but Japan overall is the largest destination for every country in that region (ok, not North Korea).
Of course there are Korean tourists and Taiwan and vice versa. There are only like 4 countries in the region. That has no bearing on how Koreans view Taiwanese people and how Taiwanese view Koreans.

Which brings back the thread overall - tourists to Japan, large in number, also doesn't just go to Tokyo. Okinawa? Sapporo/Hokkaido overall? Osaka/Kyoto? Or even Fukuoka (especially South Korean since it is so close)? For South Korea, the dropoff from Seoul to Busan is big, and then it is an even larger dropoff for rest of SK.
There is no point in responding to him. He's perpetually aggrieved about everything and has a very myopic view of the world. There's an Ignore List feature on this site, and the site gets a lot less stupid when you put it to work.
Yea, the dropoff from Seoul to Busan is pretty huge in pretty much every way. I think there are sometimes small waves that come from when an area is featured in a series that gets popularly, like the Jeju Island push(es) that have happened before, but doesn't seem to sustain itself. South Korea is building a hell of a lot of infrastructure to make it easier to get around though, so maybe that changes a bit with more people doing side trips but Seoul's still going to be on almost everyone's itineraries.
