Seems kinda expensive. I'm wondering if I can just dop it off at a ferry...

Thanks!
Mr bob would say it would be easy to enjoy nice drive up to Alaska from Seattle. at same time load up the car with supplies and save a bundle from not having to pay higher prices at stores in Alaska.

You could always do the Alaska Marine Highway if you want to be with the car.
Which company did you use to ship your car from Seattle to Anchorage? I have quotes from Horizon and Totem, and the prices are not too bad for a BMW that I want shipped here.

It was Alaska Auto Transport. They were the cheapest quote we got. It should be less expensive for a car.

Try Northland Marine, we just shipped from here to Seattle and had to use Carlile as ran out of time with them. We paid $1364 for a 2001 ford escort, and Northland was at least $600. less, but the timeframe we had to have didn't work.

A shameless plug for Northland Services. They do a real good job on shipping your new Subaru Outback or Forester from the dealers in Seattle. They'll also ship any car you already own.

Northland Services

I've got a one ton Dodge diesel. Perhaps, since I'm currently out of work, I need to start a delivery service from Seattle to Anchorage. I could pick up a 3 car wedge trailer, and I could beat those prices. Hmmm.

It's only cheaper if your time doesn't figure into the equation. It takes more than 40 hours of driving (and of course you have to stop for gas, and customs) to make the drive from Seattle to Anchorage. Presumably, you will want to sleep somewhere unless you're traveling with other people who can drive. Given the cost of gasoline (much higher in Canada and Alaska than in the lower 48, and it's more than 2200 miles), and the cost of hotels on the route (higher in the summer, but I really wouldn't sleep in the car!). Our trip in 2013 cost more than $1000 in gas, hotels, and food. But then, I was the only driver, my son wasn't old enough to help out.

I recently got a quote from Premier Van lines:
The following is your quote: to ship your car from Seattle, Washington and deliver it to Anchorage Alaska, the cost is: $1,440.00 for small car(s) and $1,960.00 for larger cars. This quote is assuming that you drop your car off at the port in Seattle.

Yeah I am finding the same thing as everyone else on here. It is much cheaper to just drive the vehicle up. As long as you make a fun vacation of it, it shouldn't be that bad. Just dreading long stretches with a dog and kids...
