Parks and Recreation

The Twin Cities are graced with extensive parklands, especially Minneapolis, most of whose 22 lakes are surrounded by public parks. An 88-kilometer (55-mile) series of parkways called "Grand Rounds" connects many of the city's parks. Altogether, Minneapolis has over 170 parks, located on some 2,428 hectares (6,000 acres) of land.
