Orlando: Municipal Government

The city of Orlando has a mayor and six commissioners, each of whom are elected to four-year terms. The mayor is the full-time chief executive officer of the city and presides over all city council meetings. The city council must confirm all mayoral appointments of department heads. The six city commissioners are elected on a nonpartisan basis by district.
