With more than 65,000 hotel rooms available in a variety of hotels throughout the city, the Dallas metro area is the top visitor destination in the state. The city's convenient location in the central United States makes Dallas no more than a three-hour flight from either coast. And Dallas' outstanding airport facilities make coming and going even easier. Visitors to Dallas have available to them other fine convention facilities. The Dallas Convention Center, one of the country's largest, offers more than one million square feet of exhibit space, with 203,000 square feet in its column-free exhibit hall, which is the largest in the U.S.; a 9,816 seat arena, a 1770-seat theater, 105 meeting rooms, and 2 ballrooms. The center underwent its most recent expansion in 2002.
