The environment and curriculum is designed to create long lasting memories by creating a positive impact for each child that attends our program. Meet The Business Owner. Busy Hands Group Family Day Care, LLC is owned and operated by Mirna Vasquez. Mirna Vasquez is dedicated to early childhood education and has been teaching children for over 12 years. In 2002, she earned her Associates Degree at LaGuardia Community College, in Early Childhood Bilingual Education. Shortly after, she worked as a head teacher for Bronx Community College Child Development Center Inc. In 2004, she graduated from Lehman College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and a minor in Early Childhood Education. That same year, she worked as the site director for ACDP Early Childhood Center. In 2010, she obtained her Master’s Degree at Touro College, in Early Childhood Special Education. She also worked as a Special Education Teacher for Volunteers of America. The program is far from being just a business; this is her career goal but most importantly her passion. All employees of the program have had criminal background checks, as well as, medical screenings and certified in CPR & First Aid. The program is licensed by the New York State Department of Health The Program The program serves full time and part time care for children 6 weeks old to 5 years old. We provide before and after school care for ages 5 to 12 years old. We do school drop off and pick up. We help the after-school children with their homework. We provide breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner. Full day program is from 6:00 am to 6:00pm. Part time care is 4 hours maximum per day. The Learning centers are designed to help children develop and learn at their own pace. The day care is arranged to provide clear pathway for children to move freely from one area to another and to interact with different groups of children. Activities include music, art, language, library, blocks building, puzzles, table games and dramatic play. We also incorporate planned field trips to enhance curriculum. Bilingual Program At Busy Hands Group Family Day Care, LLC we recognize the importance of bilingual education. The program teaches academic content in Spanish and English. Bilingual educations provide the children with academic and cognitive advantages. A growing number of parents are looking to preserve family heritage and others for academic advantages. The program incorporates Spanish into the curriculum. The staff is fully bilingual. The labels are in both languages (Spanish and English) and we have a collection of books in Spanish. The forms for parents are in both Languages. The children will be introduced to color, numbers, alphabet, shapes, food groups, body parts, and early learning concepts in both languages. Hours of operation Monday Through Friday From: 6:00a.m.-6:00p.m. Schedules/ Holidays Closing * The day care is open 12 months per year; Monday-Friday from 6:00 am to 6:00pm.
