Tour Winterset's former county jail, built in 1903, as you shop for antiques and other treasures. The jail houses two minimum security cells, two maximum security cells, two large holding tanks, a booking area and more all within walls three-brick wide. The building is filled with antique furniture, vintage home furnishings, pottery, prints, toys, farm primitives(one of our most popular sellers), textiles, jewelry, ephemera, china, children's collectibles and much more! The former exercise yard is open for tours as well and features outdoor garden decor for sale.
We are located a half-block off the NW corner of the downtown square. We are open for business Fridays and Saturdays, 10-5 and by appointment. We cut back our hours in Dec. and are closed in Jan. and Feb. so call ahead to get an appointment or to check to see when we are open. We are a family-owned business and we live here at the jail so we are always happy to visit with our new customers! We can be reached at 515-462-3558.
