- Callie's Story Being at this location since 1999, Callie has been serving up Great Food all her adult life. Having her licence to own and operate a restaurant business here in Utah County since 1989. She was trained by the best, Remember the Chalet, at the foot of Bridal Veil Falls just a few miles up Provo Canyon? Remember those out of site Cheese Burgers? Yep, still serving up great food in Orem . Callie's Café & Sports Bar. It is a no frills, down-home bar and grill, that serves fair priced, basic food. The best items on the menu are country-fried steak, French toast, French dip - or any meal complemented by brown gravy or hot syrup. The servers are all tattooed and subtly surly. In an adjoined back room accessed from a separate entrance is a beer only bar, no hard stuff, but it's better than nothing. On Friday and Saturday nights from 7pm - 2am the back room bar, which has a couple pool tables and dart boards, opens up to join the café for Karaoke. This is karaoke at its finest; good-natured, off tune singing from people who work hard and use the microphone for some much-needed fun with friends and family. The patrons are all blue-collar, average, Americans. Since it is a restaurant setting, some patrons even bring their kids until about 9:00 PM. When you listen to the songs, you are just as likely to hear a cute blonde-haired gal in blue jeans belting out an old Metallica song as you are to hear a construction worker warble a good ol' Johnny Cash tune. If you like your Karaoke combined with diner style food and cold beer Callie's Café is the place to go in Orem-Provo, Utah. When the sun goes down and the the D.J. comes out, it's fun for all, with all age Karaoke on Friday night. When the kid's go home the men and women stick around and enjoy a cold beverage, adult Karaoke, Billiard's and Socializing. There's never a cover charge to enjoy everything Callie's has to offer.
