- Chateau Stables is the oldest and smallest of four remaining horse stables in Manhattan. It is a family owned and run small business that offers theatrical animals, carriages and carriage horses for weddings, funerals, parades, hay rides, TV appearances, films, commercials and other events. Chateau serves the tri-state area and other local states such as Pennsylvania. Chateau Stables has been in operation since 1967, and the owner, Gloria McGill, has over 50 years of experience in the industry. In addition to Chateau's traditional services previously mentioned, the stables is now opening its doors and expanding its services to include pony birthday parties and other events for hire, walk-up pony rides on Saturdays, horse sculpting classes with horses as live models on Tuesdays, and also has a riding instruction program in development. Chateau Stables is also available for private horse boarders, and has 24 hour care for the animals it houses. Chateau Stables is the home to Equestria, the New York Therapeutic Riding Center for disabled children, for 8 years. In addition to all mentioned above, Chateau Stables is very unique for some of the following reasons. Chateau is the only stable in Manhattan that: - has its own animals rather than consisting of only boarders. - houses ponies, a miniature horse, and a donkey. - owns its own farm, which is located in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. - has its own truck and trailer for transportation of the animals and carriages. ...and much more!
