- MJ Klimenko began her private practice in Benicia, CA in 1990 after working as both a co-director and clinician at two psychiatric hospitals: First Hospital Psychiatric and Solano Park Hospital. In addition, she worked with Vietnam Vets suffering from PTSD and with their families at The Concord Vet's Center. She also worked at Parent's United, a treatment center for victims of molest, as well as at Solano County Mental Health working with the persistently, chronically mentally ill. She began her private practice as a Marriage and Family Therapist. Since that time she has acquired four levels of proficiency in hypnotherapy, making her a Master Hypnotist and a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist. She also attained licensure as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. MJ Klimenko works with individuals, couples, and families. She's an expert in communication skills and has given seminars and lectures about successful communication techniques, on the job, at home, or in a relationship. She does both brief and long term therapy depending on the needs and goals of her client and believes that many cases of depression and anxiety stem from not knowing one's "true self" as opposed to whom he/she thinks she's supposed to be She has worked with many individuals, men and women, struggling for meaning and success in their lives and particularly enjoys that work.
