• COLUMBIA CHOIRS OF EAST KING COUNTY (Seattle Metropolitan Area) Serving singers pre-K through adult, Columbia Choirs is an international award-winning and esteemed organization celebrating thirty years of service to singers and our surrounding communities. We hold once weekly rehearsals during the school year in Redmond, Washington, on the Eastside of Lake Washington from Seattle and singers come to us from communities all along the I-405 and I-90 corridors. We offer boys, girls and adults expert vocal and musicianship training, a chance to make new friends and a broad range of singing opportunities locally, regionally, nationally and internationally. We are the only international award-winning community-based choir organization serving male and female singers from pre-school through adult in the Seattle Metropolitan region. So we are poised to serve an entire family's singing needs. For children pre-K through 8th grade requirement for entry into our international champion Columbia Children's Choir is simply the ability to carry a tune and concentrate (no singing experience necessary). For Youth, grades 8 through freshman in college, entry into Columbia Vocal Ensemble requires formal singing or instrumental experience. Admission is only by audition. For Adults, college age and above, Con Brio Women's Choir (rehearsals in Redmond) and Concord Chamber Choir (rehearsals in Bothell) formal singing or instrumental experience is required. Admission is by audition. Internationally, our choirs have sung in St. Peter's Basilica in Rome, at the International Musical Eisteddfod in Llangollen, Wales, and in festivals and competitions in Canada, Great Britain, throughout Western Europe, Scandinavia, Russia, Mexico, Australia and Asia, Local performances have included singing in Benaroya Hall with Seattle Symphony, in Town Hall and with music groups such as "Heart", with Marvin Hamlisch, David Benoit, the VonTrapp Family, etc.. We contribute performances to support organizations including Make-a-Wish Foundation, Children's Hospital, The Ten Grands Concert to support music education in public schools, on the Christmas Ships to benefit the area's foodbanks and many other philanthropic causes.
