Massage also provides relaxation, as well as releases muscular tension, promotes flexibility, increases blood circulation, encourages skin health and integrates experiences leading to an improved sense of well-being.
In addition to Swedish, deep tissue and intuitive massage, I also utilize Chinese medicine tools to assist in pain relief by restoring the flow of energy. Cupping is done with a glass cup that gently lifts and glides across the skin releasing tension and allowing muscles to relax more easily. Plastic cups with magnets stay on for a couple of minutes for more persistant areas of tightness. Gua sha is a tool made from Jade that directly helps with inflamation. It can also reach areas where cupping can’t like the top of the shoulders. Once the flow of energy is returned, the improvement is felt immediately.
Limbic integration is a technique that defines fears and inaccurate beliefs, and then gently physically and energetically releases them. Beneficial beliefs in the form of specific affirmations are replaced. Unresolved issues can move to illness, injury and limitations.
