In the early 1900s San Diego began mining “El Marbol” in Baja California, Mexico. The biggest onyx mine of its time but during World War 2 the production of the mine stopped for nearly three generations. And now with high demand of stones in the two sides of the border for its quality, durability, unique colors, and unique stone shapes the mine resume production. Due to the expansion in the landscaping design, architecture, and construction industry, Quarries Mexico decided to expand in the U.S. to bring onyx, slate, lava rock, beach pebble, quartz, soap stone boulders, Cantera boulders, and much more.
