- Featuring an Eclectic Collection of Fine Art by Local Artists. Artist Bio: Jenny King began her path into art in 1998 when her parents gave her the gift of a drawing class. It has definitely been a “gift that has kept on giving.” The next year, she signed herself up for an oil painting class...something she has always wanted to try. Aside from another class or two over the next couple of years, she is virtually self-taught, having honed her skills while staying home with her two boys. Using oil as her medium, Jenny manipulates vibrant colors and bold brushstrokes to enhance and exaggerate light and shadow in her paintings. Once she found her niche, her work has been emerging all around the country. Prior to opening her own working studio in 2009 on the Historic Marietta Square, Jenny displayed & sold paintings at local art festivals, as well as various shops, offices, restaurants & galleries. She began experimenting with mixed media, as well as encaustic paints in 2010. "I've found a way that allows even more freedom to express the subtleties & intricacies of myself. I love the entire process of encaustics. The end results are incredibly unique." Jenny's studio is a comfortable, relaxed & fun atmosphere where she and two other resident artists may support & inspire each other. The studio also contains a gallery featuring an eclectic collection of fine art offered to the public at an artist-direct price. Jenny has designated a "friends' wall" so that other local artists may show & sell their works. “It's important to me to support the local artists' movement on the Square...it's a great way for me to give back.”
