- Old Line Fine Wine Spirits & Bistro located at the former Circuit City location, next to Costco, 11011 Baltimore Avenue, 1 mile north of the Beltway, opened it's doors October 1, 2012. Open 7 days a week, Monday through Saturday 10-10, Sundays 10-7. The sparkling clean store, bistro and marketplace food and gift shop fill the 21,000 square feet newly built out space, creating a unique shopping experience for true wine lovers, craft brew beer lovers or spirits lovers as well as true foodies. Almost half of the store is retail sales of over 780 craft beers, domestic and imported beers, 2000 different wines, huge selection of spirits....hosting free beer, wine or spirits tastings every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. There are wine dinners, beer college, cheese classes and whiskey tastings all of which sell out on line well before the date, go to www.oldlinewine.com and find Old Line on facebook as well. Old Line's retail area brought Beltsville a huge variety of items for people who wanted a very, very big selection being sold by people who are knowledgeable about the products. Old Line Bistro is a bonus, a fabulous gastropub serving American and French country fare at very reasonable prices in a lovely setting. There are 20 always changing beers on tap, a great wine list and a patron may select and buy wine that is not on the wine list from the store and have it corked for $10.00 to enjoy with their meal. The bar seats 30 and the dining area seats 80 people, and has an attactive Harris tweed curtain that can provide a divider for privacy for special events. This area is perfect for Secretary or Administrative Assistants Day luncheons, office parties, networking events, meetings, or special holidays or alumni reunions. All food is fresh, never frozen, the highest priced item is seared duck breast at $16.00, the cheese and charcutierie plates are fabulous, dessert divine, and there are different specials everyday such as "pork wings", fresh fish, bison and a creamy 4 cheese mac and cheese. The bistro is very family and adult friendly, this is not a college sports bar, although we do support all of our our local teams! The gift shop is a work in progress, and has a nice selection of accessories for beer, wine, liquor items, tailgate items, gourmet foods, gift items, gift bags and greeting card selection. There are also antique items such as stained glass transoms, wrought iron pieces, Seven Sisters Galleries framed and unframed watercolor paintings from Cath Howard's gallery or you may choose to have a picture of your home, pet or a University building painted for a personal gift for your special someone. Cath can frame college graduates diplomas and add a water color painting you select whether it be the UMD Chapel, Main Admin, or department of choice or sorority or fraternity per your specifications. We have employed many local residents and we are all working very hard to cater to the needs of our customers. We emphasize the European way of drinking for taste and variety rather than for effect, we even have a breathalyzer installed for customer use as we believe in responsible drinking. Old Line provides three places under one roof for our customers, you can prepare for a party, stock your wine cellar, buy gifts and have a great meal at in one place!
