Callan-Harris Physical Therapy (CHPT)in an orthopedic clinic specializing in performing arts medicine, lymphedema and scoliosis. Therapists work one-on-one with patients for each 30-minute treatment session, and use manual therapies as well as therapeutic exercise to help you feel better, sooner. CHPT offers exercise classes for those just returning to movement after an injury, surgery or lymphedema.
CHPT staff are trained in performing arts medicine and have backgrounds in dance and/or music performance. We understand the special concerns and considerations of performing artists, and how they differ from sports athletes. Our staff is available backstage at Rochester City Ballet and RCSD School of the Arts performances, and work with dancers from Garth Fagan Dance, Present Tense Dance, FuturPointe, and virtually all other area dance companies as well as many area dance schools.
With four Certified Lymphedema Therapists, CHPT is a leader in treatment and prevention of lymphedema and other complications arising after treatment for breast (and other) cancers. We work closely with oncologists and surgeons and treat each patient with sensitivity and as an individual.
We are located in the Neighborhood of the Arts, in the same building as Rochester City Ballet, on University Avenue, between Culver Rd and Blossom Rd.
Hours: Monday-Thursday until 7:00 pm, Fridays until 5:30 (opening hours vary).
