• Ours is a unique atmosphere. You will feel as though you have stepped back in time the moment you enter the building. It is very warm and inviting and very beautiful. You will feel more like a welcomed guest than like a customer. Prices are quite reasonable and for those items that are a bit more pricey, we offer a Lay-a-Way plan that fits your budget. We have 2 very strong points. The first is that we cut Gemstones and set them into jewelry at very reasonable cost, most likely less than anywhere else in the Franklin area. The second is that we Teach Classes on how to make Jewelry. Classes can be in Wire Wrap, Bead Weaving, Traditional Beading, Chain Making, Polymer Clay or PMC or even how to make your own Cabochon. Most Introductory Classes are $35, but bring a friend and you each will save $5. Introduction Classes in PMC cost $150 and require at least a weeks notice to have the supplies in stock. The Cabochon Cutting Class is $50, and is one on one. Other Class prices vary depending on the class materials required. Class size is from 1 to 4 students, so you get more individual attention. Classes last 1 to 2 days and are "Customer Driven", meaning that you specify what you want to learn. If you choose something way beyond your current skill level, you will be directed toward a better beginner or intermediate project. But feel free to let us know what you want to learn. Send a picture or bring in a piece of jewelry or come in to see many examples of what you can learn. Call or check our website to see what is being offered. Class days are Wednesday thru Saturday, but can also be held on a Tuesday if that is truly the only time that you can come. In addition to the Classes, we are in process of becoming a full fledged Bead and Jewelry Making Supply Shop with beads and wire and findings from base metals all the way up to 14kt Gold Filled. Sterling Silver Filled wire and findings are becoming more important with the higher cost of regular Sterling Silver, so we are keeping up by providing these materials. We carry Miyuki Beads and Preciosa Beads as well as Gemstone Beads and Cabochons and Faceted Stones. We also sell Ready Made Jewelry ranging from Costume Jewelry to high end 14kt Gold Jewelry. We also sell a few Antiques and other interesting items for the home or for one's self. And don't forget our Rock Room filled with Semi-Precious Gems in the Rough and many fascinating Specimen Stones from around the world. Rocks are just fun and they are for the "Kid" in us all. And so for kids from four to ninety four, we offer Gem Mining at Jungle Gems Mining Company located at the same address. At Jungle Gems Mining Co., one can try out the 5 Continents Bucket (a wide variety of Gemstones good for Tumbling or Cabochon Cutting), Cleopatra's Delight (Rubies and Emeralds - ooh-la-la), The Treasures of Machu Pichu (a bucket filled with stones many of which can be Facet Cut), The Monkey's Choice (oh yeah, ask about the Monkey's Tale whether you opt for this bucket or not - the Monkey is a real "Character"!), Professor Diggum's Bucket (Fossils older than your great, great, great and a lot more greats, grandparents) and finally, King Solomon's Treasures (this bucket includes ALL of the above mentioned buckets - talk about incredible FUN, this is it!) In addition to all that we sell Display items too. They are located in the Rock Room and in the Class Room which looks more like Miss Emma's Dining Room - really great atmosphere, even at Jungle Gems Mining Co where the exterior is a little deceptive. In the Mining Office, Gemstone Specimens are also available for sale. All of this is conveniently located just south of Franklin's Downtown area between Ruby Cinemas and the Fairgrounds and is Handicap accessible. Our address is 1884 Georgia Rd, but it is also referred to as Hwy 441 South, or simply - the 4 Lane South. Most of Franklin's streets are 2 lane and we have very few stop lights. A quaint place to visit, especially Emma's Place!
