• We’ve been different from the very beginning In 1952, seven Tektronix employees saw an opportunity to serve their employees better than traditional banks could. From there, First Tech Credit Union was born. Four years later, a handful of visionaries at Hewlett-Packard recognized a similar opportunity and formed what would later become Addison Avenue Federal Credit Union. While the term “high-tech” wouldn’t become part of our daily language for many years, Addison Avenue and First Tech’s founders recognized that people within forward thinking companies were wired differently. They had needs traditional banks simply couldn’t address. By 2010, Addison Avenue and First Tech decided they could serve them better together and merged to become First Tech Federal Credit Union in early 2011.
