Kyle Bowers a True Texas Artist has been working on the wood lathe for over 30 years. Working from his ranch, deep in the piney woods of East Texas.
Each pen is hand turned by myself and then hand sanded with progressively finer abrasives until the true beauty of the material shows through. After sanding each item is hand rubbed with a finish of shellac, beeswax and secret ingredients.
The metal parts of my pens are finished in one of the following metal finishes.
Rhodium
Possibly natures nature’s most brilliant and durable precious metal, Rhodium is used by the worlds premier pen manufacturers to plate their very finest pens. A member of the Platinum precious metals family, Rhodium sells for as much as $1,200.00 per troy ounce and is unmatched in brilliance and durability. We guarantee the Rhodium plating on our Platinum Series pens to last a lifetime or your money back.
TiN Gold and Gun Metal
Titanium nitride (TiN) is an extremely hard (~85 Rockwell C Hardness or ~2500 Vickers Hardness or 24.5 gigapascals)[1], ceramic material, often used as a coating on titanium alloy, steel, carbide, and aluminum components to improve the substrate's surface properties.
