In the year 2000 Michael Henington opened his first art establishment on Canyon Road in a historic building that housed the Michael Henington Fine Art Gallery and the Canyon Restaurant. His intuition was correct, and this joint venture soon became a favorite Santa Fe hot spot. A decade later he teamed up with one of Santa Fe’s most acclaimed chefs, Fernando Olea, in the historic convent of El Sanctuario de Guadalupe Shrine. El Sanctuario (built 1776-1795) is the oldest shrine in the U.S. honoring our Lady Of Guadalupe, Mexico's Patron Saint. Michael's new fine art gallery first opened its doors in this new location on Christmas Eve 2010. Michael’s vision and desire to create an all-encompassing artistic experience came into fruition as a partnership between Henington Fine Art and Fernando Olea's Epazote New World Cuisine restaurant.
