• Ttowa Announces Grand Opening in Arlington Heights (Arlington Heights, IL. – May 4, 2011) – Come join Ttowa for its grand opening at 161 West Wing Street. Located in the downtown Arlington Heights area, Ttowa offers locals and tourists the opportunity to explore an assortment of Korean style cuisine. Ttowa’s new menu delivers “mandoo” – Korean dumplings – complimented by homemade dipping sauces. They serve traditional style mandoos with beef, chicken, pork, and shrimp. For vegetarians, Ttowa prepares mandoos stuffed with shiitake mushrooms, tofu, and an assortment of other vegetables. The family style restaurant also offers traditional rice dishes, soup, and noodles. Main entrées feature chicken, pork, and beef, such as marinated short ribs with traditional vegetable rice porridge. Ttowa’s Kimbop Bar integrates Korean flavors and ingredients into sushi rolls. Chef Rhan Whang, a student at the Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago (CHIC), brings French style and technique to enhance the taste and presentation of Ttowa’s authentic Korean dishes. “Korean food has so much to offer the world with our unique dishes and flavors. Here at Ttowa, we educate our patrons and provide a comfortable dining experience with great food, music, and service,” says Executive Chef Dong Ju Park, who has over 15 years of restaurant experience. The previous owner of Ttowa Dumpling House in Morton Grove, Ill., Chef Dong Ju also worked as a baker in Germany, Korea, and the U.S. Ttowa is located at 161 West Wing Street, between Davis Street and Vail Avenue. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner Monday through Thursday, from 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, from 11:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.; and closed on Sunday.
